Sorry, Mikek1 ! "Original" is a very relative term, especially dealing with a genius. There's many more examples from just Prince alone. Actually, THE MOST Carbon-Copy-isms that he's done over the years is a song from Rance Allen's 1972 lp "God's where it's at" The song is called "Look Around" this song can be dangerously compared to "Gotta Broken Heart Again" it's really lifted. yeah yeah... songs can sound similiar without necessarily ripping off anyone. Just like that claim I saw in another post that Little Red Corvette was a rip off of the Supremes' "Up The Ladder to the Roof"
The hook is similar, okay okay okay....i get it. it is interesting but if you try really hard you can probably find a lot of songs that have similarities to some of Prince's stuff. | |
