Was he actually playing the guitar? I'm not guitar saavy, but he didn't appear to be plugged in most of the time...noticeably during the performance with Lenny Kravitz.

With that said, the Rave 2000 dvd is just awful and unbearable to watch. Never try to convert someone with that dvd. I wonder how much money I can get for it on ebay.

like some kind of disorder?

I think you meant that his guitar playing was so natural & perfect it was as if it were part of his body.

and I meant that I don't think his playing was ever that good, but it's always been very good

Have you watched the Purple Rain Tour Live lately though? Theres so much filler and costume changes, Prince is acting it up, it hasn't aged well. I watched it recently and really was disappointed compared to other tours.

That's why I thought Musicology was probably the best of his concerts I've seen, in terms of pacing. He wasn't doing splits, and the new material wasn't as exciting as the stuff from 20 years ago. But the show was never dull or preachy.

I agree, and the stage was far from spectacular, but you could get close and there was no Tony M or Mayte or Twins to take the spotlight from him. It was great.

Something else, he never turned the house lights on! The lights shone on the crowd at moments, but he never broke the mood by turning on the "ugly lights."
