I hate medleys Hopefully the Vegas shows will not include medleys. When I think of Vegas cheeseyness - the medley comes to mind.

Depends what songs are used and how it's approached. A medley of the hits would be the ultimate in cheese, especially considering where he'll be. But a medley of lesser known songs could be really cool, or even a medley that mixed up the hits with the rarities. [Edited 11/6/06 0:17am] "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

Well I'd wait and read the reviews if I were you.

I don't think Prince does medleys in a true sense (most of the time, anyway). He just kind of weaves things in and out. You catch little snippets of some songs (like we got just the tiniest taste of Bambi in Vegas in May), a little more of others, and full-blown jams on others. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I love it when he does medleys-especially during the Musicology tour when he did things like fuse Kiss with When Doves Cry-that was so awesome!

Prince is super creative...if anyone can do a kickass, non Vegas-cheesey medley, he can!

He's done some great medleys in the past... just look at the first half of
the Lovesexy show. | |

I listen to Prince's music with organize and passive listening to almost all of his songs. His medleys are a kickass good off time. I don't understand what you mean you hate his medleys. cuz I heard some crappy medleys before. Gravely.

It's the only way he'll be able to fit some "old faves" into the show. He can't play all everything all the way through and he can't cut the "biggies" from the show. Some people are going to be disappointed that they didn't here "Let's Go Crazy" or "1999" or whatever. Gotta pleeeze the masses.

I agree. I hate medleys too but they're a necessary evil. Major artists with alot of hits have to rely on medleys in order to please all their fans. Could you imagine how long that concert would be if Prince or Stevie Wonder tried to play every hit they ever had? And they still have to promote their newest album which can take up to half a show.

I like the purple medly, but for live shows no. I don't want to hear a bit here and a bit there. Medlys in concert is for people with short attetion spans. I myself like to listen to Prince from begining to the end.
