How rare r they and how much r they worth

Good question because I got one.

The only ones I've ever seen were Mexican or European in origin. (That is if you're talking about the album itself and not a single.) As far as a single (12" or 7") goes, they're nice to have but (like the purple versions of WDC) fairly worthless as they were over pressed. Mexi and Euro Purple Rain LP's are worth about $35-50.

(Anyone can correct this info if it's faulty, but that's the scoop last I checked)

One of my friends bought it for $5.

I got 1 myself, I had it framed like how those gold and platinum records r. It gives it that "official" look

I got mine for 2.99 on ebay with the poster!!!

I consider myself blessed, and happy.

These purple vinyl Purple Rain platters were pressed after the sountrack became such a huge hit. They are not very rare, but they look cool on display. I remember seeing tons of them in bargain bins, back in the day.

Don't bother playing it though, as most colored and clear "collector" vinyl records suffer from very poor sound quality.

I find that many of my picture discs and colored vinyl sound really good. My 'footless' is great, and my Billy Idol 'eyes without a face' 12" sounds great too. I have a purple WDC and it sounds crappy but so does the black one I have.
