If you receive a note from npgmc@npgonlineltd.com you might want to checkout its validity.

I received a note early this morning that was directed through a site called www.moveon.com that allows someone to fake the email address and domain name.

The note mentioned a new live box set being ready for shipping and that a European Tour would be starting next month.

Ignore this note if you should get it.

I can’t vouch for the validity of this email, but I can assure you that I am legitimate and that I received this email from npgmc@npgonlineltd.com with a subject line of "NPGMC: Let the Fun Commence!" at 3:43 a.m. CDT this morning.

Could it be a fake email sent out with the FROM Address forged? Sure, but we'll certainly know soon, as I can’t be the only one who has received this email.

Interestingly, both of you appear to be in the minority by displaying an email address in your profile.

If no-one else reports this message shortly, why not forward the mail to NPGMC and ask them to verify or deny its authenticity, Brendan? I'm sure they'd be interested to learn that someone is doing this sort of thing.

I’m almost certain now that this note is bullshit from some moron.

I traced the email and it was sent to me through some site called www.moveon.com. This site allows you to send using any email address from any domain. I knew these sites existed, but I’ve never received any suspicious email before, and this note certainly didn’t seem odd enough to warrant investigation when I first received it.

Looks like this idiot has mailed at least one other person on this thread (EllisDee) and they also display their email address in their profile.

Very strange they picked me, as today was my first post on this site in 3 or 4 months, and the very first post under my real name (Brendan). No one even knows me here. I used to post under the name Novy but lost interest in this site (other than checking the news) when the ratio of junk to intelligent conversation dropped to about 95 to 1.

I apologize for the bogus information. I've just about had it with the Internet. Every day it seems to move more and more towards being taken over by the malcontents and misfits of society. I’ve got much better things to do with my time.

I got the same email earlier too. I didnt post it up here because it came flying in literally as I was reading Neptunes thread about a bogus email, so I thought I would wait and see if anyone else got it.

Anyway, we may be able to track the culprit. If Brendan traced it to www.moveon.com, that very site is mentioned in the Neptunes thread... I wonder if the link is more than coincidental?

I think the culprit is an orger people! Hide your email address!!! Just like I didnt!!!
