1 - Fair-weather fan:
- Only own Purple Rain and maybe a greatest-hits compilation

2 - Nostalgic fan:
- Own some of the bigger albums from the 80's
- Catch a concert every now and then but don't fret about best seating
- Still consider yourself a Prince fan, but his later stuff isn't for you

3 - Casual fan:
- Own at least half of his albums
- Don't have an interest is getting the albums you don't have
- Don't have any of the internet stuff
- See him when he's in town

4 - Dedicated fan:
- Own every official release
- Have every internet release
- Have a few pieces of memorabilia but not a "collection"
- Have Purple Rain and some videos on VHS
- See him every time he's in town and maybe in a local state (i.e Michigan/Ohio)

5 - Devoted Fan:
- Own every official release, sometimes multiple copies
- Collect foreign (Japanese/German) versions of his albums/singles
- Have every internet release
- Have a large memorabilia collection
- Have every officially-released DVD and VHS
- Have every protege/related-artist releases
- See him wherever/whenever you can - traveling as necessary

I am about a 4.25 - at one point I was about a 4.5 but I don't have memorabilia or duplicates anymore.

Somewhere between 4 and 5 I guess,

Though I don't collect any memorabilia, just the music.
And I don't really collect multiple copies of the same thing from different
countries unless there's something different or interesting about them.

Hmmmmm,-

in relation to your 5 offers I'm about 4,5 -

- cause not having all old Maxi & Single Vinyl releases,

- and not having the time & money to travel to concerts
outside of europe ( no chance for me to see him in Vegas.....)

BUT - putting some other viewpoints to your List - maybe

- collecting other Princestuff.....you know.....

- being aktiv in the Internet - Princereleated ( I'm a Mod in a German
Princeboard )

- spending time in your collection, art, archive etc.

- spending time in contacts and friendships with other fam's / fan's

- .....

- .....

I've been a fan for 26 years, I'm more like a 4 because I don't try to own everything he ever recorded and I never by off the internet.I don't believe in rating people.

Based on this rating system, I'm 4.5. I have just about all of the albums and I got a lot of stuff on Prince but I don't collect multiple copies of the same albums, except 3121 (I wanted that purple ticket ) plus I don't have lots of memorabilia and I don't care to have a whole lot of it. That's just me.

Id say dat and more, im so obsessed i have even endorsed and sold his 'Single' releases', so i could hope 2 give him a higher chart postion most possibly.

I'm a few tenths of a point from a "4" b/c I don't have all of the internet releases and I have seen him throughout '00s, but only once in the late '90s b/c someone else suggested a group of us go. I was serious about it on my own in the '00s.

i am still devoted but i am not going to buy everything... i have most stuff but none of the NPGMC stuff... or ONA or a few of the singles. i would not go see him live if he came here unless it was less than 100 for 2 good seats

Well I'm just past fair weather, and morer towards casual fan I suppose. I'd buy more Prince stuff, but my money is invested in other venues--beauty pageants and Prince's arch musical rival. LOL. But I'm working on it.
