The Prince you thought you knew

The 80's are long gone! I think many of you on this pathetic site are stuck there for some strange and sad reason. "PRINCE" as he proclaimed himself in the past has totally surrendered ITself to stature as a "has-been", and I, along with the rest of you, am deeply saddened by this.
The so called "artist" has given nothing but empty promises coupled with empty ventures. Get a life, MR. MANI.
Leave all the TRUE "PRINCE" people alone!

I agree with you, SkeletonKee.

Feeling sorry for people who are happy
is such a waste of time.

As a matter of fact "feeling sorry" is
very counter-productive.

What does it do for YOU?...Let's see...I think it
makes YOU feel sad, like this sad...

while the ones you feel sorry for feel like this...biggrin
and like this...lol lol lol.

I love Prince as much now as I did in the 80's and not because I am stuck in the 80's but because since the 80's I haven't found any musicians or artists or whatever that has captivated me the way he has. Not in the 80's not in the 90's and not in this decade either. You people got nerve saying things like he has lost it and is a has been. You aren't comparing him to others who have "got it" you are comparing him to himself. And that says what? He still has it! If he wanted to Prince could still be putting out the kind of stuff he did in the 80's but that would be making people like you happy and not neccesarily himself. Everyone dissing him now needs to wake up and get a clue. I'm always going to love him not because he is who I want him to be but because of who he is. Prince is not our music box. We can't expect him to do everything like we or someone else wants. He is following his heart and doing his music from there and that is good enough for me. I don't need Prince to be on Top 40 radio to convince me what he is doing is exceptional.

U forgot those at the end of your

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I totally agree with adorable2 and revolution. I am also NOT stuck in the 80's. I still love his music because it shows real talent and musicianship. I don't give a rats ass if he sells records or wins awards or anything like that. Most (not all) of the people who sell and win are record company puppets with very little true talent. Sure, they might have nice fake tits or fancy cool clothes, but where is the true talent? No where! Prince is the man and one day he will be respected by all who know and appreciate what real music is. Stick that in your pipe and smoke pal!

I saw a interview with Prince and he commented on people wanting him to continue to do music that he did in 1982.
He said Musically I have grown since 1982, Asking me to write and play music like I did in 1982 is like asking me to always be in the 6th grade and never going on to College, Musically I am now in College but people want me to go back to the 6th Grade.

See that's what I'm talking about! Some conscious people up in here! For all the naysayers, all of you who love "SOTT" and "Parade" but hate "For You" aren't you glad he evolved? It seems to me the people like the one who started this thread are stuck. Prince is way beyond those times and I appreciate that. Ain't nuttin but a muffin and he got alot butter to go!

EVOLVING, is one thing. Evolving into a Larry Graham preacher patrol, is another.

Evolving into a faux-jazz diletant is far preferred over using an Emerson, Lake & Palmer album cover for an avatar.

Pretty funny that some with an avatar as BUGS BUNNY would comment on mine. Then again, not many of you fools know anything about art OR literature. Sorry I wasn't a "prince" solid shit that you could take back to your cave and mull over and worship!

Bugs Bunny is far better art than H.R. Giger if you ask me. Or ask anybody. Just ask Lichenstein... wait! You can't, he's dead.

And again if you really go out public with using a Giger painting for an avatar I sincerely suspect you understand anything about "art OR literature". Can you read OR write for that matter? I'm asking because I'm just curious.

stfu or get a new handle and start all over again with a bit more mature attitude.
