Is there a BlackHBO too? A race really needs it's own premium channel? Soul Food manages to get decent enough ratings on Showtime without it being an exclusively black station.

Hmmm...I wonder, is this a valid point...It sounds like so, I agree. Why bring the whole 'word' into it, it should be all about trying to unite, not trying to be like others...you know what I'm saying? Well I guess one always follows the other to make their point, but it shouldn't always be that way.

Yeah, it does sound a bit segregated. I believe it used to be the BETStarz channel, they also have StarzWesterns and others channels, hopefully one day there will be an all music movie channel... agreed the title BlackStarz channel is not all that... actually i don't see why they don't just show both films on the regular Starz channel... oh well... maybe someday... wink cool

I enjoy some of the programming on BET...SOME (like one)...but still, if we had a White Entertainment Television, that would never fly.

(Plus WET would sound 2 much like a porn channel. eek)

That's what it was all about before, but ever since hip-hop busted out into the scene, all seems more integrated, black and white that is. Who knows if that's for better or for worst.

One would be hard pressed to find a "white" video on MTV at most times... every time I happen by that crappy channel there are ONLY rap videos on... or some really shitty "real life" show or something that includes white kids trying to act like inner-city youth or rappers...

I guess all they're really interested in is what really sells, (once it's discovered that it can) because rappers weren't given the time of the day until they realized that they were marketable to white audiences. MTV refused to air any rappers and their videos. Now they're hot shi* and they don't mind playing thier music and videos. But I think rappers like Eminem is one of their ultimate goals for them to go right along with them or to take over. So by this, I think they're pushing and influencing these white youths to go out and try to do their thing, but it seems like more producers are Black and have some kind of power in all of this, the power they never had before. And even when some did have that power prior to all of this, they disregarded rap music altogether because they thought it wasn't going anywere. So this makes me wonder where all this is leading up to.
