Never really cared for "Incense & Candles", the lyrics didn't really work for me.

"Get on the Boat" is much more upbeat.

i can tolerate 'incense and candles' for the fact that he's at least trying to work some ambience into the song. 'get on the boat' reminds me of something you'd play at a barbecue or after a motivational speech.

Incense and Candles, Get On The Boat reminds me of TRC, which is why I like it so.

(nothing wrong with trying to spread the word of a healthy diet and good for him for having the balls to go there.....if it helps one person get up and stop sitting on their dinners, there will be more dinners for the rest of us and less reason for him to write lyrics like that again)

Get on the Boat is just "BLAH BLAH BLAH LOUD NOISE LAME LYRICS HORNS" and Incense and Candles is a litte (phrase theft alert!) "Uncle Disgusting"...but it's definately more listenable. I would rather listen to Poom Poom 5x in a row than either of these.

'Incense and Candles' is one of my favs on the album. As mentioned by some one else... I&C is the track that most of my non-prince fan friends heard, liked and wondered why it wanst on the Radio. Being radio friendly isnt why I liked it... but I think others dis-like it because it is radio friendly and not see deep thatit drowns all but the most die-hard Prince fam.

I love "Incense and Candles"; it's sexy all the way around. "Get On The Boat" makes me feel like I'm being preached to and I hate that shit, "Get on the boat. Get on the boat, people. Get on the boat now. We got room 4 a hundred more." So, what if I'm 102? Does that mean I'm shit outta luck and can't get on the boat? Damn, I hate that song.
