What happened to the DVD release of Prince playing "Everyday is a Winding Road" with Sheryl Crow? I was looking at "This Day in Prince History" and noticed that three years ago he guested on stage with Sheryl Crow during the "Lilith Fair" tour in Toronto.
Anyway they played this performance at Paisley Park a couple of times and then it was posted on L4OA that Prince had given permission for his performance to be used on the "Lilith Fair" DVD that was to be released. My question is was the DVD released without the Prince song or was it never released at all? I'm quite sure I would have heard something if there was a Prince performance available on DVD. I did a google search and came up with a great diary entry by someone named Jennifer Rafalski: http://www.lilithfair.com...JenRa.html The text is as follows: Toronto Day 2 "Prince" I really pretty much only have one thing to say about the second day in Toronto. Prince was here. I know, I know. He goes by "the artist" (formerly known as Prince, or whatever the hell). I don't care, he's Prince to me, and always will be. Sometime in the late afternoon the buzz started. People would come up to you with a strange look on their face and whisper "Prince is here". "Really?" was all I could come up with to say back. Did I care? Sort of. Was it exciting? Sort of, but mostly strange. The last person you expected to show up at the Toronto show I guess. But it was definitely neat that he actually did come to see the show, since there's not a lot said about him anymore. Anyway, I thought it was cool. It turned out he was going to join Sheryl Crow on her set. Even more interesting. I figured out which song he was supposed to appear on right before her set started and planned on shooting it. It didn't seem like too much of a big deal. Well, I was wrong. He came out in a lilac, sparkling suit with matching heels. He had big, fluffy hair, just like I remembered it. He played guitar like nobody's business and it was phenomonal. It felt like history in the making, and probably was. Sheryl Crow seemed to beam in his presence. I have to say I ended up being thrilled that I got to catch the whole thing up close and in person. I've never seen him live before but when I was thirteen I LOVED him. Plus, who hasn't sung "1999" at least once this year? Or, at least thought about it. When that song first came out on radio not only do I remember it, it seemed like 1999 was way off in the freaky, out of this world future. Here we are, 1999 Lilith Fair, business as usual. Very strange. After his song with Sheryl I came backstage from shooting and people were in awe. Words weren't necessary, people just looked at each other knowingly. "I feel like I was in the presence of god" Amy Ray mumbled out of her mouth as she passed by. Pretty funny/cool stuff. p.s. I saw Sheryl on "Big Brother 3" last night and my question is: What the hell was she thinking? . [This message was edited Thu Aug 22 16:07:46 PDT 2002 by lovemachine]

Wow, that's a huge statement if i've ever heard one-esp by one of the Indigo Girls(i think she is anyway)-one of my fave bands. All kidding aside, i've felt something similar to that when i've seen a few of his latenite shows, he's got this aura around him that's really quite breathtaking. Maybe i'm just nuts, but i know what i felt was there. peace
