4 the Tears in Your Eyes Blimey! I've been a Prince fan for quite some time now, but this is the first time (Big thanks to YouTube ) that I've seen the video for this song.
Absolutely wonderful, if a little heavy on the shoulder pads and make-up... it was 1985, I guess. A beautiful performance of a beautiful song.

It sure is-makes me happy that he didn't participate in the We Are The World thing!

I first saw this video debut during the 1985 Live Aid concert being broadcast on TV. I was totally surprised by the way Prince looked then with the short hair. I believe it was the first time to see him with short hair (The "America" video and an MTV interview he did from the set of the "Under the Cherry Moon" movie in France were also first times to see him with the short hair look). It was right before the "Under the Cherry Moon/Parade" black and white period. I loved the new look then (and still now), along with the song and video. The original recording on the "We Are the World" album is great too. It was a nice contribution to the whole "We Are The World" project. Personally, I wished he would of taken part in the "We Are The World" song. But, he did contribute a great spiritual song and nice video performance to the effort. I do have the video on a bootleg VHS tape. [Edited 10/30/06 12:20pm]

just go to Youtube and type in wendy and lisa and scroll down... you'll come to it.
In retrospect, I too wish he'd taken part in the We Are The World song... I can understand his reasosn AND it did give us the sublime Hello, as a b-side too, it would simply have confirmed for the rest of the world what a charitable guy he can be... bearing in mind all the food drive stuff and donations and private concerts etc that he did/does off his own back. Odd,really, when I've recently started a thread about him simply being a popstar... the one time when I wouldn't mind him grabbing the limelight (if that's the best way to describe it) and he chooses not to.
