Dimly lite, headphones on, making the cuts Anyone ever find themselves imagining Prince in the recording studio going through the process of perfecting one of his musical gems? If find I do this a lot. I imagine him in the isolation booth with a pair of very high-end, black headphones on, a very high tech mic, eyes closed...just listening and feeling the music. The places he must go in his mind when he is recording.

I really hate threads like these. Right now he's just aiming to fill his wallet. Take it back to TRC and I'm with you; although maybe without the sensualness. I'd love to see angry Prince again.

Angry Prince is good, too. I would love to see him angry in front of the mic. Whatever!! It is the artist thing I am talking about. And what is WRONG with sensuality? I don't think it is ALL about the wallet. Ofcourse it is to some degree. But it can't be denied that he loves making music, loves putting the pieces together.

Yeah, because I heard he use to lay on the floor while recording slow jams to make them sound authentic.

Actually the layin' down on the floor thing, is a technique used 2 get a wider range when singin' high notes; by doin' this there's less stress on your diaphragm.

I like to think what the recording session was like. Especially 2 a.m. sounding cuts like Another Lonely Xmas, We Can Fubk and more. Some sound like th elights were lowered or even off. "when Im in those arms of yours I'm so gone"-With U/Janet

sounds like a dream but sadly a recording session is nothing like that its a pain in the ass lol i think the only artistic image i can think of is Prince by himself in the studio with a crate full of twinkies next to him, fucking with a drum machine lol I am a Rail Road, Track Abandoned

It's a nice image but not terribly realistic, I don't think. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

I would like to believe he gets in the zone-has a moment-or whtever you want to call it when he lays down these tracks. But, you all might be right. I am sure it is a lot more effort and not as much magic as I would like to think.
