Fair enough but as an openminded individual, I have no idea why Prince handled 3121 the way he did and because I do not know, because he is not saying himself, I don't really think about it one way or the other. The guy was going through a divorce and that amy have affected the way he was/is doing things. I just feel it's none of our business and as people who supposedly give a damn about the guy, he deserves respect.

yes, but you are a rare minroity around here and I mean that in a good way of course.

I agree with superspaceboy.
Sometimes I read comments about Prince's personal life/actions and think "God, I'm glad I'm not famous", because I would not want someone dissecting every move I make that way.

Most things are not our business. He's going to do/ not do them whether or not we approve, because we'll still pad his pockets regardless. We whine and bitch, but we're the ones who stick by him and fund his every whim. That's why we're the fans and the rest of the population isn't.

wow... I read that and thought, "Are we more intelligent?" Damn. eek

I don't know about intelligence, but some of the orgers are hillarious and have me rolling on the floor in laughter. It takes a special level of creativity and sharpness for wit like that.

I do agree with that! biggrin

One time Anx said something so funny, I spewed all over my computer screen and had to clean it off.

Another, Tom the moderator, in dead seriousness after I complained about an orgers bad behavior responded with ....."well.....maybe it could've been worded better". I was in spasms for 10 minutes. He was pretty funny even without trying.(Luv ya Tom)
If nothing else, the site is a great source for entertainment, and intelligence is a base for that. Like Monty Python. You know those guys knew their history.

Maybe a forum topic could be "Do Prince fans have a better sense of humor? and everyone can write in their funniest moments.

I got to admit I've always felt that people that can really get into Prince and his world and most of all the music have to be people who have to get beyond the obvious. So in essence I agree with SharonBell, now get me wrong I've seen and met some real crazies back in the day like the one person I had to talk to during the lovesexy era with black ray ban glasses with fringe like miko. Or I had a friend in high scholl who used to talk in whispers like he was P talking to big chick. But overall I would take a stranger who loves sign of the times over a friend who can't dig the funk, Do U relate?

I am just curious, why would someone with your views even want to post in a forum such as this. It makes no sense to post views like this. This place is a fan community site. Some one like you nees to go eat some taco bell food and fart in your car until you need to be hospitalized. See you hopefully never. Honest, not to put anyone else down, but I seem to find the people who truly enjoy Prince's music to the utmost also seem to have a higher intelligence level than those who just can't understand him. The people I've met who can't seem to understand Prince's music also have the trait of tunnel vision in life, they are not open minded about a lot of things. They feel music, as well as other things, should just be a certain way. I find my friends and people I know who really love Prince seem to have a bit of a higher intelligence, a bit more knowledgeable about life and what evolves around us. They are able to process data that is a bit more avante garde, complex and different. That's just my take on it, I may be totally incorrect in my assessment though. Is it the way people process music, or is it just personal taste?

what? most Prince fanatics are extremely closed minded, especially about most things not Prince. if it isn't Prince, it is crap! seems to be the battle cry of most Prince fans, which is the definition of closed minded.

heck, your posts actual lack of awareness of the behavior of Prince fans is the ultimate rebuttal of your position. your entire diatribe shows why Prince fans aren't more intelligent, open minded or knowedgeable about life, because they are so closed off to it in their obsession with Prince. most Prince fans no nothing more than Prince and simply project what they want to believe onto everything, not what actually is. that sure seems closed minded and less knowedgeable to me.

knowedegable about Prince does not equate to knowledgeable of the world.

They are like all people: good and bad can be found among them.

I've been on this site and others under various identities since 1998 and I must state I have noticed a trend toward intolerance and bigotry in some.

Religious intolerance, particularly.

There are also those who are almost 'fanatical' toward Prince as a figure. They are very intense, single-minded and demanding and dare I say it ... frightening.

Of course, much of the above is endemic of being part of the 'hardcore' fanbase of any Artist.

That said, I honestly do believe that the majority, in general, are just normal people who appreciate Prince's music a lot and like to closely follow his career.

I disagree. I don't think it's most Prince fans. I think it may seem like it because only "die-hards" might take the time and energy to post on a site like this everyday. I know plenty of well-rounded, intelligent people who are really into Prince who don't have the time or inclination to post. They see the big picture; we're the ones stuck in this rut of boredom and minutiae. bored

The key word in your little rant is FANATIC. Being into Prince's music is not the same as being a fanatic. Like I've stated before, I think that listening to Prince's music has made me open to other styles of music and other artists; Prince isn't one genre- he combines many, and pays homage to others' work.
But that's just me. I do not, and will not put myself in the same category with some of the people who can't see past anything that isn't Prince. excited That is just annoying and childish.
