3121- IMO, The best original Rap/Hip Hop song of 2006 This song is a blast, this IS IT , ORIGINAL, funky.hip hop beats , but still Prince, Camille backvox and the guitar_
He kicked the shit out of everyone at the BET awards with this song. This is 2 be honest the best original hip hop song of the 2006

Did it really make that big of an impression at the BET awards? I may have been out of the loop, but I don't remember much talk about it. Of course, nothing even close to the SNL performance of "Fury" or the RRHOF performance of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." How'd the hype compare if near anywhere? | |

I REALLY don't understand the "crappy," "turd" comments about 3121. I seriously had to break away from all the negative org comments about Prince's new stuff and start listening to it with an open mind. This is a new era of Prince and it is FUNKY, SOULFUL, SPIRITUAL - oh yeah, it's Prince! He's always been funky, soulful, and spiritual. He's just expressing it in a new way and I love it! He's still evolving and I am so thankful that he is not content to rest on his legend and recycle the same sound to please some fickle fans.
3121 is a gem. I love that album. I was just listening to it last week and will be listening to it for many years to come. What I am starting to learn about the org is that many folks here have a hard time accepting it when Prince embraces his soulful, R&B side. It's a shame that your myopic view of probably the most diverse artist of all time limits your ability to receive the whole of his art. When people make statements like that they reveal their own limitations not Prince's. There is a lot of musical inmaturity on this board. Every album Prince has released contains a lot of hard work. Even if u don't like something at least appreciate the work that went into it. When people throw around words like "shit" to describe a person's work they are really disrespecting that person.
