Does anyone know the backgroud behind the dialogue between Prince and the reporter, Vanessa Bartholomew, in the Love Symbol Album?

God I remember when that My Name Is Prince video debuted on MTV, and they started off with her, that stuff was silly. I was like "WTF are they doing?"

If you look around on the bootlegs, there's actually a whole series of skits with her that they eventually left off the album (which is a good thing, because the ones that were on there got to be a bit gimicky).

Actually, I liked the Kirstie Alley stuff better than the robot voice seques on The Gold Experience.

Yeah, the segues that they took off fill in the story a little bit more.... basically, Vanessa is a journalist interested in Prince's paedo relationship with little Princess Mayte.

The 3 Chains O' Gold video fills in the prince album story arch a little more if you've seen that.

I loved the NPG Operator segues - but I felt that there were a few too many on TGE. I would've like to have seen just a few segues spread out over 3 separate albums from the same era. That would've been cool. Obviously the best segue was the lead-in to TMBGITW, and I like the way that got distorted near the end of the album. biggrin
