This is not the Dorothy Parker that Prince talks of.

This Parker was way more cool.

It was just a goof, since Prince didn't know who the historical Dorothy Parker was when he wrote the song

and co-inky-dinkly

she died on his 9th birthday.

Nothing more to it than that. Had the song in my head all day from the ONA Live sessions.

Here lie the ashes of Dorothy Parker (1893 - 1967) humorist, writer, critic. Defender of human and civil rights. For her epitaph she suggested, 'Excuse my dust'. This memorial garden is dedicated to her noble spirit which celebrated the oneness of humankind and to the bonds of everlasting friendship between black and Jewish people. Dedicated by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. October 28, 1988.

I somehow do think she was the one Prince was talking about.
Seems like one of those interesting and different characters that he would be interested in.....
