Of course Hendrix takes the crown for this one. Apart from him I'd say it's a tie between Prince and Jeff Beck. Jeff is the single most amazing guitarist on the planet, and I always think it looks like the guitar's just another part of his body.

Frank Zappa always looked pretty laid back, mind. Oh, and have you ever seen Zal Cleminson from the Sensational Alex Harvey Band? He never really looked "Cool" but he always looked absolutely wicked - throttling the hell out of his SG!

There's a clip of Prince playing a horrible version of Controversy, and when it segues into Mutiny he just hurls the guitar up in the air - where it lands I know not where. That's pretty damn cool.

Am I the only person on the planet that doesn't rate Santana? Three licks do not a legend make. And why the hell would you actually choose that hideous tone? Sounds like a fat wasp playing a broken clarinet.

Ok, I'm tired and grouchy!

I respect the fact that Carlos has his own voice but to me he's a bulls*** guitarist.

Play "Mary Had A Little Lamb" change it to a minor key and put congos on it.

He does sound good on "Europa". And he seems to be an honest player who gets feeling out of his three notes in the Dorian Mode.

i have always wonder what prince saw in his playing. he's certainly good but doesn't do much for me. his style is a bit too pretty for my taste.

Check out "Variations On The Secret Carlos Santana Chord Progression" by Frank Zappa.

I saw Buddy Guy earlier this year and he was absolutely awful. I was absolutely stunned - he wasn't just dull or mediocre (like former 6-string genius Peter Green is nowadays, sadly). I mean, he was REALLY BAD! And his band was just chronic, too. Very disappointed. Just another former "Legend" trading on his reputation.

"Thank you very much Louise Anna. That was a song called 'Rock You Like A Hurricane' by The Scorpions.

What do you say we all head over to Bourbon Street for a drink? Hell, FEMA's picking up the tab. (To Rick Brown) Helluva Job there buddy"

(An aide whispers in Bush's ear the severity of the situation. Bush looks stunned and pauses for a minute.)

"Oh..... Well, here's song Laura and I used to listen to while we were courting. It's called 'Cool Water' by Willie Nelson.

(Entire staff and audience look stunned with their mouths open.)

"Now wait a minute, hear me out. America is like a desert and in Texas we're your neighbors and we know what it's like to be in need of water. But that water that reaches the desert is like a promise".....

(Kayne West interrupts) "Yeah, a promise that black people are gonna be in the mud just like we been for 400 years..... Jesus didn't walk on no mud."

"Security, please detain that man and have Condi speak with him. My cabinet reaches out to all Americans." (Sings 'Cool Water')

"In closing I'd like to take another page out of the Willie Nelson songbook. This song was recorded by The King. And that's what this Country is about. How a man came from humble beginnings. Poor, uneducated. But he was the King. And I believe New Orleans will too rise up with a new pink cadillac and blue suede shoes. (Condi whispers off mic.) Yes, and shoes for the ladies. (Smiles) You need new shoes to walk through that Ninth Ward."

Maybe I didn't love you
Quite as often as I could have
And maybe I didn't treat you
Quite as good as I should have

If I made you feel second best
Girl I'm sorry I was blind
You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind

Thank you New Orleans. Good Night!
