Xenophobia Box Set Here...
the one that was recorded from someone's pants.

I've read some posts by people who are getting their panties in a bunch, hoping that Prince does not use overdubs on the new box set. Get real.

As a fan who collects boots, I just have to say that he 12 disc Xeno set is horrible. It was, of course recorded from the audience. Security was tight at Xenophobia, so I am getting this mental picture of a microphone shoved up some poor "mule's" ass. Well mule, it wasn't your best work. I think that you can actually hear farts during some of the songs.

My point is, give me 7 discs from a soundboard (using dreaded overdubs) over 12 discs using an ass-mike, any day.

Prince has an idea what his released material should sound like, so he's probably going to clean it up a bit. We will NEVER hear a new soundboard bootleg again as Prince has a pretty tight reign on his live recordings now.

We all have waited a long time for this official live release. It's going to be mind blowing to most of us who were there and to others who were not.

Prince, thanks in advance.

I'll wait and see for the 7 disc set. As with all things Prince, I try not to get too excited about anything. Because you know that if there's even the remotest chance of him fucking it up, he will.

I don't know about you set brother, but the one I have been listening to has been great. I'm just glad that I can still experience the event even thoughI couldn't go to it in person.

There is some pretty incredible stuff on there and I for 1 am glad to have this set.

Overdubs or not...the Xeno boot is dead - long live the 'official' soundboard release!!!

If Prince regularly releases live material like this, it will put the bootleggers out of business.

An audience recording pales in comparision to the sound quality offered by an official soundboard release.

Plus, I still think that most people would rather buy the material from the artist. The only reason they use bootleggers is because the material is not avaliable from the official source.

The 'Xenophobia bootleg set' is an audience recording that is being sold for $100. An NPGMC annual membership is $100 and for that you recieve an official live set, plus other albums and tour perks.

Prince not only offers superior quality from the official source, he also has the better deal.

REALLY!!! So what other great albums have you recieved so far. And tell me about the live set you got already. I'll believe it when I see it.

I will buy something he puts out, but I can count on other sources to be there instead of P.

I still my choice to purchase or not when I know what I am getting.
