Controversy-Talk about fucking up lyrics. I was 9 or 10 when I first heard this song and me and a cousin still laugh at how we thought Prince was saying
"Got Yo Pussy" instead of controversy

I feel like I've cheated on Let's Work. Can we pick 3 instead of 2? Please!

Great great album! Hard to pick two favorites but it's got to be Controversy and Sexuality. Honorable mentions to Annie Christian and Let's Work...

This is a tough one. As much as I don't want to be boring and pick the singles, I would say:

1. Controversy
2. Let's Work

Beyond that:
3. Private Joy
4. Sexuality
5. Do Me Baby

But those top five are very close together.

Controversy & Do Me Baby

Have to offer "let's work" and "controversy". But I agree that there are more than two I could say were favs.

"Sexuality" - Hot!!!

"Let's Work" - started liking that one more after I heard Prince perform it live on the second leg of the Jam of the Year Tour - also loved it live on the Musicology Tour

When I first bought the vinyl album in the mid-eighties my song was "Do Me, Baby" and I thought "Jack U Off" was so daring. Later, I began digging "Private Joy." Back in the day when I played the song "Controversy" my brother thought he was singing 'come to the sea.'

The song "Controversy" performed live is slammin'.

Controversy: a classic blueprint for a lot of his funky material to come, and the sticky guitarriffing remains delightfull, even after 25 years.

Annie Christian: again a sort of blueprint, this time for the more experimental / psychedelic type of songs Prince made in the mid-eighties.
Alltough the lyrics are a bit silly, the bleak sounding riff, the echo on the vocals, the lo-fi production, the strange sounding riffs near the end are the first proof of Princes ability to deliver material like 'Around the world in a day', 'Crystal Ball' and 'All my dreams'.

Well, being that the song Controversy is my favorite all time P song, (followed closely by When Doves) it goes without saying which one is my fave on that album. Obviously, Let's Work is hella cool. But I also highly favor "Annie Christian" and "Ronnie Talk To Russia". Anybody on here that's hip to the New York Dolls, will here their track "Vietnamese Baby" all over "Ronnie Talk".
