Give Praise to "One Nite Alone...Live!" I´ve listened to this awesome CD-Set for the first time in over a year this morning in my car. And I just thought: "Wow!" I nearly forgot how good this is! My favourite CD is probably CD 1 with tracks like "Other Side Of The Pillow", "Xenophobia", "Extraordinary" or "Avalanche", and all of the Rainbow Children-tracks are awesome anyway. This band is so tight, the horn-section with Candy, Maceo and Greg is perfect and John Blackwell is my favourite Prince drummer after Michael Bland for sure.
CD 2 is also great with the long solo-piano-section. It took Prince a long time to release a live-CD-set, but the release we got is as good as it get´s! What are your thoughts? See the man with the blue guitar, maybe one day he`ll be a star...

NO. No Whole Lotta Love... The BEST thing he did on that tour.

I like it. I'm always a sucker for anything Prince does on piano. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Loved it at first but its not like anyother album...once you've heard the concert enough times and can sing along to even Prices Adlibs there's soemthing lost

It was hot when he played it on the Musicology tour, too (e.g., San Jose June 2)! "I would say that Prince's top thirty percent is great. Of that thirty percent, I'll bet the public has heard twenty percent of it." - Susan Rogers, "Hunting for Prince's Vault", BBC, 2015

Oh yes... It was such a strange sensation, having seen a far few Prince concerts, to get so excited about a COVER! Shit, I used to cringe at other artists doing covers... still can't quite accept (what with all that in the vault) that Prince needs to do covers... and yet... there I was, all shocked and speechless, listening to Whole Lotta love... bliss.

SOME EXCELLENT material BUT COULD OF BEEN MUCH BETTER!
Even mr leeds said the tracklisting didn't showcase how energetic and good the tour was. what about black dog, whole lotta love, love rollercoaster? the jams are pointless and boring; i would have love to hear peach like he performed at the mtv awards or a real version of girls and boys. Could definitely have been better. He performed a lot of stuff on that tour that deserved to make the cut.
I've created an Ipod playlist that includes soundboard stuff from the Denmark aftershow that is bootlegged. Its got a great sequence of Bambi Whole Lotta Love The Question Of U The One Falling Brickhouse Skintight 777-9311 all of which fit perfectly after When You Were Mine - its guitar heaven. Its also got a cool full version of Peach, Dolphin and ALl The Crtiics Love U In Denmark, which close the show much better than Anna Stesia. Also you can rip great audio versions from the Vegas DVD. Pass The Peas, Whol Lotta Love, Pop Life all sound good. Other tracks he performed that id love to have on this set: The Ladder Money Dont Matter 2 Night A Case Of U Love Rollercoaster Purple Rain (the 10 minute version from Japan is orgasmic) The set is worth having for Joy In Repetition alone though. This was by far my favourite prince live band - just some magical arrangements and performances from them.

'everlasting now' is great...actually all the rainbow children stuff from ONA live was great...some of the oldies get tired after a while, and i hate it when he makes the audience sing (personal pet peeve - if you want me to sing at your concert, pay me or make your damn ticket price cheaper!).
aside from 'joy in repetition', i thought the third disc was a wasted opportunity. it literally HURTS me to listen to that musiq track.

I like it just fine, but I wish it had been arranged differently. The whole piano thing is cool, but takes up too much of cd2.
I might have preferred one single entire concert warts & all, so he's not saying "DC" then "Portland!" I think the highs would be higher, if the lows would be lower. But it would probably make for a more entertaining cd. The real problem, of course, is that there is NO live Prince cd featuring the hits!!! Absolutely ridiculous! My Legacy

love it but it does lack atmospere, aftershow cd serves it's purpose well and has a nice loose feel about it.

It was hot when he played it on the Musicology tour, too (e.g., San Jose June 2)! But he blew the solo at the end. I agree it was good, but when he got to Jimmy Page's masturbatory guitar freakout...I was expecting more than a handkerchief draped over an unplayed guitar.
