P didn't really show a P-Funk influence untill his 1999 album. Even on the artwork on the cover of that album, anyone who owns or has even seen Funkadelic's "Electric Spanking" from 81, will see a direct bite in the album cover. But P's sensibilty, funk wise' from "1999" on is P-Funkish. The title track "1999" has a "Flashlight" vibe to it, as far as the keyboard strings and even P's bassline on the "partaaaay" towards the end is Bootsy "Tear The Roof Off" inspired. Obviously "Erotic City" and even more blantant, "Scarlet Pussy". I also hear it on the song "3121".

Ironically, on Funkadelic's "Electric Spanking" the song "Icka Prick" was about Prince and his Dirty Mind album, said George.
