What if Prince went Country?

It's a possibility. Country music sells shitloads today on the US.

Can you imagine Prince doing an ode to Dolly Parton's boobs or dueting with Shania Twain? lol

Yeah, that will happen. Next you'll be saying he's about to play long term in Vegas.

You know that line (from ONA Live?) where he says 'I like country music too'. Gave me nightmares that did.

He could always play Dollywood after Vegas. Then the Grand Ol Opry. And end the tour headlining Klanapalooza.

Listen to Courtin' Time. That's a classic example of Texas swing, just like Bob Wills used to play.

...or someone just find the picture from The Muppet Show. I'm too lazy, but Prince as a hillbilly was priceless.

Well, he does blues/folk style stuff, so I don't think country is beyond him...or even a stretch. However I don't think he'd go that way though.

Not a fan of the current stuff, but I could easily listen to

Patsy Cline
Loretta Lynn
Johnny Cash
Hank Williams

and a handful of some others I can't think of. Country pre 80's was great.

I'm not a big country fan but my husband is...and with that I've learned to appreciate it as real music by real musicians so....I could totally see prince embracing it because for the most part filled with singer/song writers and musicians. biggrin

Yee Haa, anyone remember when those 2 syllables came out of Prince's mouth?

Give you a hint, it was at a short performance in the confines of a hotel (quite sure).
