I grew up in a house where music was played 24-7 by my father. He had the beatles playing most of the time or Leo Kottke. So I became a huge Beatles fan at the age of 2. As I got older I hung out in record stores and heard Controversy playing and as they say.....the rest is history.

I still listen to the Beatles and have huge respect for the music to this day. So my question is: Were you ever a die hard fan for another group and left them for Prince? Or are you currently listening to another musician and you left Prince?

I left everbody for P including the Beatles

I enjoy lots of different musicians, but never have I shown the same intense
fandom that I show for Prince to anyone else.

Naw, I have a lot of love in my heart for other musicians, but Prince is number 1! The other 2 who round out my "Holy Trinity of Music" are Paul McCartney and Elton John. I enjoy others as well, but those are the big 3.

I was an MJ fanatic as a kid, but I left him for Prince when I was 12.



And I've never left Prince for anyone.

I started out with The Time until I heard Contoversy then completely flipped for Prince but I can remember being really into Duran Duran then of course again going and stayin with Prince since 85 or 86 I dug the early Maddona but always had P my #1

Back in the 80's I left everyone of my friends because they tried to convince me Prince was Gay, after Lovesexy came out I could'nt take it anymore!

Prince reigns over all my favorites.

I left MJ for P a while ago. I still listen to MJ every now and then but the next time I hear Billie Jean, no matter how good it is, I'll stab someone.

I've always loved all kinds of music but there are no other artists who have influenced/motivated me the way Prince has, and it's not likely to change.

Before Prince I used to lisen to those BORING lps by Pink Floyd, I use to think they were profound or something . Not anymore.



And I call this change Emancipation.

I would have left Prince in 1985 but Shitney Houston came out that same year and slowed everyone down. There was no one to leave Prince for.

As a kid in the 80's, I left MJ for P around 88-89.

My Fave is Prince, followed by Bowie, HEndrix, MJ, The Stones, George Harrison...

I was getting into MJ and my dad wasn't a huge fan, so he kept hinting, "you know, you should listen to this" and finally I listened to it...loved it...left MJ shortly thereafter.

I left someone because they didn't like Prince in the right way. lol

I left the radio becuz they don't play Prince
