Okay Prince Trivia Gurus

I'm collecting some information and can someone tell me what Prince's first and last B-side was?

Also, what is the name of the type of instrument that Dez, Wendy, Miko, Mike share. I'm not a musician so please don't throw darts at me, trying learn here.

Thanks. biggrin

Presumably this is some sort of quiz in which you are participating.

Dez, Wendy, Miko and Mike all played second fiddle.

If you mean non-album b-sides, then the last one was "Brand New Orleans",
the b-side to "S.S.T." which was commercially released on CD Single.
Though it is just a "part 2" to "S.S.T." really, rather than truly being
a song in it's own right I suppose. So the answer could be classed as
"United States Of Division" which was the b-side to "Cinnamon Girl" and
was actually released as a CD single in Europe (not just download and
radio play like in the U.S.)

The first non-album b-side was "Gotta Stop (Messin' About)" which was
the b-side to "Let's Work"

Gotta Stop was definitely the first non-album b-side, but wasn't it a Dirty Mind b-side, on 7-inch? I was sure it was out there before Let's Work...

In the States, it was released as a b-side to the 12"-version of "Let's Work" -- in one or two other countries, it was released as an a-side.

Gotta Stop (Messin' About) was an outtake from the Dirty Mind album, and very
nearly was included on the album.

It was released as a single (A-side) in the U.K. on May 29th 1981.

It was later used as the B-side to the Let's Work 12" in the U.S. on Feb 17th 1982

What was the B-side to "Soft and Wet"? Wasn't it "So Blue"? The question didn't ask whether it was unreleased or not.

Quite true!
Though the term "b-side" has become synonymous with "non-album" in common usage.
