Hi,

I've been collecting Prince stuff for about 22 years now, and the first years were quite fruitful. Every week or so, I used to find some item that I did not have yet. But as my collection grew, it became harder to lay my hands on new items.
So, at a certain moment I started to buy second copies of things I allready had. Mainly for the thrill of finding 'new' items for my shadow collection and also because those double items were simply collectors items, that could not be left in a store. So I ended up with multiple copies of Jill Jones' cd, Ren Woods Azz Izz etc.
Further, in the last 10 years or so (Prince's underground period), the records he released on his own where more likely to become collector's items, so I usually bought 2 or more. I learned this lesson after I ordered only one copy of the original 'Gold Nigger cd', which became mega rare afterwards.

Are there other people out there that have this strange habit??

I have backup copies of all things Prince,not only music,but books,videos,etc!

wow- i can't afford to do that. i just buy the albums that i can- rotfl.
