Hot Thing= I'ts No Crime by Babyface

Anybody ever notice this? "It's No Crime" was Face's first solo single that I liked, but it definitely borrowed heavily from Hot Thing. Anyone agree?

that's like saying Prince Borrowed something from Inixs's "Need You Tonight" or Robert Palmer's "Addicted to Love" for "U Got the Look".it's fairly Common to Borrow in the Biz.

I always thought it borrowed more from Duran Duran's, "I Don't Want Your Love."

funny thing is that when Prince did the Elisa Fiorillo "On the Way Up" Project He was quoted as saying that La&Babyface have used His Sound So He was Using there's for this Project.they are cool. TLC's "Waterfalls" was Produced&Played by Organized Noise. now "Red Light Special" the One that Babyface Wrote&Produced reminds me of "International Lover" IMHO.Jam&Lewis on Alxender O'Neal's "a Broken Heart Can Mend" got a Part of Foreigner's "Waiting for a Girl like You".you can hear pieces&things from many things but everybody in that Business is a Sponge of whatever is Happening at some point.some are Manipulative&Creative about it&others are Blunt&Open with it.

you are Probably Right.because in the Mind of a Producer they are looking at something that works but also something in spots they can use without being totally called out on it.Babyface has used this Formula alot in His Productions.

Yeah I said "Waterfalls" because Babyface is an exec producer on the album. Don't forget there's a big similarity in shared riff segment between "17 Days" and "Broken Heart Can Mend" too.

Since we're on the topic...have you guys ever noticed how Janet Jackson's song "Funny How Time Flies When You're Having Fun" sounds ALOT like MJ's song "The Lady In My Life"? Even Quincy Jones jokes about how Jam And Lewis were "borrowing" elements from his sound.

I could be wrong, but I don't think Babyface had anything to do with TLC's song "Waterfall".

Nah it was Dungeon Family's Organised Noize. I mentioned it because Babyface was one of the album's Exec. producers.

Yeah "Innocent" is a definite The Time jam. It was surely an outtake from sessions for one of their albums.

I remember when the Flyte Tyme produced "Fake" by Alexander O'Neal came out, I said to myself "Self, that sounds exactly like Prince's (Andre Cymone's) Dance Electric."

Good thing that Prince is friends with JJ and TL.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.
