Nothing other than SOTT...and maybe Gold. I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

'Sign O' The Times', 'Diamonds & Pearls', and ' ' should have won albums of the year
'Most Beautiful Girl in the World' should have been a song of the year winner there are several other canditates.. but just off the top of my head those two definately deserved better recognition

Singles: I Hate U(Pop/Rock Performance);Money Don't Matter 2Night;Standing At the Altar( songwriting)
So far, So Pleased(great collabo); Love...thy will be done(song writing) Adore- for everything! Round n Round( production and composition) Still would stand all time(song writing); The Most beautiful Girl in the World( performance, compositin) 7( arrangements accompanying vocals); Call My Name-R&B Songwriting,R&B vocal performance( was up against usher that year so it was tough) Albums: Batman-soundtrack; Rainbow Children; new jazz, nontraditional/contemporary gospel; N.E.W.S.-jazz fusion(he was nominated though); Graffitti Bridge- Great Album killed by a weak movie. Karmasutra_ Instrumental Score( hard to give since there was no movie)

Grammys are overrated.
Though I really think he should have one for most of his albums. "You could say I'm a terminal case/You could burn up my clothes/Smash up my ride...well, maybe not the ride"

SOTT is the only album I feel deserved a grammy. Although, TRC was very interesting musically.

I agree that SOTT should've won the Album Of The Year grammy, but 1987 had a LOT of amazing albums. Prince: Sign O The Times Michael Jackson: Bad U2: The Joshua Tree George Michael: Faith Terence Trent D'arby: Introducing The Hardline . . . Bruce Springsteen: Tunnel Of Love Guns N Roses: Appetite For Destruction Def Leppard: Hysteria Sooooo many other good songs from that year, but the above are the spotlight albums IMO. They pretty much made up my entire new-music listening experience that year. My point is, it was a good competition. I personally think that if Prince didn't win, George Michael should've. Madonna released Who's That Girl and You Can Dance in 1987, but I didn't count them as full albums because they're a soundtrack and greatest hits compilation, respectively.

U2's The Joshua Tree won Best Album in 1987. It's an amazing album, just not as diverse or experimental as SOTT.
