I download all Prince songs, mix them down to mono (left channel only, because it's my good ear) add treble as much as possible and then I cut the songs onto vinyl with my 78 RPM record lathe. I'll make copies for any one who asks.

Oh, and I make the album sleeve art with my own poo.

I purchased all the offical release cd's, except for the Black Album and TVBOP.
I have a copy of the orignal TBA on tape, sounds good enough, but I rarely listen to it. I never felt the need to go after a boot cd of it, since it would have only cost me a lot of money for the same quality recording. I missed out on the 94 release.
TVBOP just doesn't add a thing, no need to buy it, especially not since the recordings haven't been remastered.

I own two copies of several albums and I still own the lp versions of Controversy, Purple Rain, Atwiad, Parade, Lovesexy and Batman.

As for (maxi-)singles, i don't own all of the offical releases on cd or vynil, since I never and still don't bother to hunt all of them down. but I have some of every album since SOTT, including special releases like the Gett off digi-pack and the Beautiful expereince.

I have purchased in total only two bootlegs, one is 'Wonderboy' a concert recording of the SOTT tour in Paris, France and Utrecht, Holland which also has good outtake recordings from Expert lover, If you break my heart 1more time, Strange relationship, Wonderfull ass, Neon telephone and Witness. The other is a Dreamline release of a concert Prince did also in Utrect Holland in december 1998, also featuring GCS, Lenny Kravitz and Candy Dulfer.
All my other boots are on tape and have been traded against other tapes. Most of them are from the era 1980- 1992. After that my interest in them kinda disappeared , also because I wasn't that excited about prince's music in general anymore.

btw. I do have some of those "ways of the Pharaoh" maxi single releases on cd, Prince talked about on his website, including:

Little red corvette , dance mix (which is great)
Erotic City, dance mix (which is also great)
I would die 4 U, ext.version (which is superb!)
Let's go crazy, ext.version (also nice)
and
kiss, also ext.version 9with all the talking and bitching in it)

I just found out that I own two other boots on cd ... International Lover (Us tour nov. 1982) and Funk U up (Tokyo, 1992)
Never listen to them anymore tho'...

I have bought everything that he has released officially... sometimes even buying more than one copy...

Lovesexy = two copies
Purple Rain = two copies
Parade = two copies
Sign o' the Times = two copies
The Gold Experience = two copies
Crystal Ball = three copies (2 special and 1 regular)
1999 = two copies
Symbol album = two copies (one gold box and one regular)

I also have all of the singles as well, including all of the ones that were holographic.

All the official stuff was purchased new.

I have purchased about 100 or so bootlegs and have burned copies of a few hundred more. I traded a whole lot on AMP a few years back. I don't like copying officially released material and do not really agree with it.

ut oh... Ice...DOES THIS MAKE YOU A fAM??? :EEK:

Have it. But how rare is it?
I think it's exaggerated?

This is what me do.

After the Warner Bros. situation of the early to mid 90's, all official Prince releases: PROMO's. The gold promo stamped ones. From the small record stores.

I have almost evrything, lot's and lot's of vynil. I have a cabinet full of records, all with plastic sleeves in excellent condition. Prince and protogés. I flipped through a few the other day and was suprised that I have a few sealed U Got The Look 12's!

Well, actually, I have a fe missing albums in CD format. I used to buy the latest album as cassettes and drive around my favorite part of town listening and having a party time in my ride! Then they'd get worn out and sell them to the used record stores. Then never got around to getting them as CD's. This happened with Come, Gold.

Oh, and I never have gotten the New Power Soul.

It was wierd! I just saw it and cringed. I mean he looked cool, BUT it just didn't go with the CONCEPT of the "NewPowerSoul" I felt was conveyed with LOVESEXY. It was anti spiritual in a way. Also, so confusing with NPG and Prince on the cover...it seemed a little tired, this NPG thing.

The artwork was the worse I have ever seen in an official Prince release too. The tour was cool but slightly cheesy. I still haven't bought it. Probably will get around getting it though. I'll immediatley redesign a better package for it though!

I stopped getting boots sometime in the mid 90's. Just too much money and I was po'. My favorites are the vynil ones. Love those. Especially my first boots. The Black Album (orange label/gloss black sleeve) and The Chocolate Box and Regent...

I may start again getting boots, but this time as as CDR's. I rather screw the bootleggers!

I am still wishing, HOPING Prince starts releasing all his stuff as a "Vault Series" or something. I will still spend more money on official things first!

This Live One Night Alone was something I think he wanted to release first. Like an official live album and do it right.

I just hope this time he justs releases other things that HAVE been available as boots, with period photography and artwork through the club or something. Albums and VIDEO!
