"Foxey Lady" by Larry Graham vs. "Sexy Dancer" by Prince

I was listening to Graham Central Station's 2001 Rhino Records retrospective and i got to the track "Foxey Lady" and i couldn't stop listening to the baseline. The song is pure '70s disco but funky complete with Larry's renown voice. And the bass line, drums and even Larry's vocal performance reminded me of Prince's, the way it changes octaves. If you listen to "Sexy Dancer" both songs released in 1979 share that disco sound, if any musician on the Org can explain the similarities and differences in the two bass lines i'd really appreciate it.

The bass line on foxy lady E2, D2 D#2, E1, and so on... variation in rhythms
Sexy Dancer, is basically a half a step below foxy lady Starting on D2
other than that the patterns are pretty much different
funk basslines sound alike,
but your ears are pretty good, cause, the lines are right next to each other when it comes to key and tone
but they're pretty much different when it comes to pattern
similar, but different

The beginning of "Foxey Lady" with the horns, i know i've heard that horn part sampled in a few rap songs over the years. If I had to guess i think one of the groups to use that sample is 2 Live Crew where they lifted the b-line for their classic hit "Me So Horny". If anybody knows what i'm talking about, holla back. "Foxey Lady" should have been a hit instead of the syrupy "One In A Million". At least the bassline thumped.
