Pros and cons of performing in Vegas

Pros:

• Introducing Prince to a new generation of audience (parents will take kids)
• A steady stream of income to fund the next album/project
• A more relaxed Prince due to no traveling
• More live performances than touring
• A semi-permanent stage setup allowing for more creativity
• Increased odds of aftershows/jam sessions
• Increased sales of catalog Prince albums (imagine a Prince store within the hotel)

Cons:

• Appearance of "selling out"
• Negative comparisons to Elvis, Celine Dion, Tom Jones, etc.
• Replacing a proper American/World tour
• High ticket prices
• Location (travel) inaccessible to some fans

The high ticket price is the only con that really concerns me.

Cons: Prince gets addicted to the slot machines, starting a vicious gambling downward spiral into poverty and despair. eek

Pros: He opens the `vault` to fund his gambling addiction! smile

You usually have to be 18 to 21 years of age to get into a club on the strip. and parents will not take their kids if tickets are 100 dollars or more.I've been to Vegas between the plane fair and the ticket prices your gonna shell out at least 1,000 dollars since 911 nothing's cheap

Pros: I get to see Prince and I finally have a good excuse to go to Vegas!

Cons: Are you mad? There are no cons here. I get to see Prince and I finally have a good excuse to go to Vegas!

would he stick to this schedule? How long would he do this because this would be amazing! Imagine if they sold a DVD or CD or download of the actual show. This could rock.
The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

biggrin This has huge potential! There is only one con for some fans, and it's travel cost...take away the travel cost and the ticket price suddenly seems VERY doable! For me it's only a 2.5 hr flight and I haven't seen P live nearly enough times so the prospect of him being in Vegas for a while is very EXCITING!
Not to mention Vegas it's self is a hugely fun place to visit. wink
He gets it! That's why the ladies love him...batting eyes

The last two points on the cons I agree may be a problem, but the first two, are just personal opinions people grapple within themselves, I don't think Prince cares what people want to call him and he shouldn't.

the last word from Vegas has him booking acts there and joining them from time to time.....so it seems like he's not going to be headlining a lot.....plus the price is not bad ($30 when he is not performing with the acts, and around $100 when he does).....and there are all ages shows here in Vegas so he might be able to do make that happen

Well, I don't see anything wrong with Prince performing in Vegas. If anybody can't afford to go anywhere they can't afford, then they simply shouldn't be going, and that basically applies to any place you can't afford to go, it's as simple as that.

If you can't afford to buy that designer bag, and you know this, then you shouldn't be buying it. If you can't afford that expensive ass coat, then you shouldn't buy it. If you can't afford to take a vacation, then you can't afford to go, so there shouldn't be any reason for anyone to whine about not going to Vegas if you simply, "can't afford it!" lol lol Just save your money that's all, then you can afford to go!, comprende? lol

Yeah, and he needs to come back to Detroit, Atlanta, Chicago, London, France...etc. That doesn't seem to be the plan, though. So Vegas, here we come!!

Pros We might finally get that Wayne Newton colloboration we've been hoping for

Con: prince will develop an addiction to fried peanutbutter and banana sandwiches, gain 100 pounds, develop a painkiller addiction, and finally dying on a toilet, to be found by his 8 year old born again christian Son, Athens, scarring him forever so he can become a coked up man whore, constantly blowing the writers of Entertainment Tonight for some attention...

mm im lookin forward to that Wayne Newton Coolloboration, do a medley consisting of Danke Shoen,Little Red Corvette,Summer Wind,Purple Rain it'll be hott
I am a Rail Road, Track Abandoned
With the Sunset forgetting, i ever Happened

should he sell himself cheap?

way i see prance, is he worth lets say um... $3000 per show. per person.

he's been underrated he's whole gaddam life.

imo, he should either charge people what he's really worth, or give it to em for free... obv. the 'club' need to make their return, but he might not.

big bucks or free. this lukewarm shit is makin me wanna pee lol

on the second point.. boo hoo, so some folks cant get there to see him. like he aint been to you before, like he aint given every last drop of sweat to you over and over again with every CD release and concert and 'celly' and gee lemme see....round 35 years worth of effort...flying, travelling, living an almost rootless existence, just to give u music..

thats one persepctive anyway, poss. worth considering. x

as for what people might think of him, think away. he prolly got an opinion of u too
lol

Vegas is no place for kids. You can't even walk down the street without having peddlers shove porn flyers in your face, not to mentions the sidewalks and streets are littered with them.
