Lets clear up this whole "Xenophobia" thing...

For those who are totally lost on this Xenophobia thing.. commenting on the new items in the retail section (shirts candles and other junk)
XENOPHOBIA is an actual studio cd we are recieving.. its an instrumental and its a jazz fusion like cd. its true, eye've even heard it before a concert..

Now this whole 7cd set called "Xenophobia"... that is something eye am not really sure about.. sure, its the live set of the celebration, but understand, The studio version WILL be released. And who knows about the live set... it will more than likely never see the light of day... and eye think it is pretty crazy/weird that Prince released that information on it, in the same week as the ONA Live video/info.. maybe he was having mixed feelings about which one 2 release? who knows, but 2 let the peeps who arent clear.. eye guess u can say there are two things actually called Xenophobia.. 1-The Studio Jazz Album 2-The 7cd Live Set (?)

Eye would count on the studio set before the live one.. dont count on it people.

IMO, I don't think Prince posted the blurb about a supposed 7-CD 'Xenophobia' set as an announcement of a new project. I think he did it to prove a point. I suspect NPGMC received a lot of e-mails concerning the fact that (once again) the bootleggers in Europe have beaten Prince to the punch and released the Celebration performances which fans are now paying top dollar to scoop up. I guess in response to this, Prince was just sort of saying [i]"Well, damn, what if I had just sent you the same thing you just spent $400.00 on?"[i] But notice that no where in the post does Prince say, "A 7-CD set of the Xenophobia Celebration is in the works." (not that he would ever make such a succinct statement [lol] ). Yet he has made it clear that ONA-Live will see the light of day.

I do NOT believe that this 7-CD set exists, and ONA-Live will probably be the only live album released for the foreseeable future. The only 'Xenophobia' club members are likely to receive will be the already completed studio album. I'll bet he's sorry he ever put anything about a 7-CD set on the site now that the entire club is expecting TWO live multi-disc sets within a few weeks of each other!

Having said all of this though, I'm probably completely wrong about all of it... [hrmph]

wouldn't it be wonderful if Prince released all
the live shows himself and charged say 10 dollars
for each one plus postage? It sure would be better
for everyone, except the bootleggers.

Yeah, just like Pearl Jam did a couple of years ago.The Who is planning to do the same with their current tour.

This is better for Prince and for us. The bootleggers no longer earn money which belongs to Prince and we will receive soundboard quality recordings of the shows headbang

Prince is a perfectionist, so it´s in his nature not 2 release anything without having 2 do overdubs/whatever.

So releasing every show on CD means 2 much work 4 Prince & less time 4 studying the scriptures...

U do the math!
