PRINCE TO INK LONG-TERM DEAL TO PLAY VEGAS' RIO??? Just received the following from my friend and journalist who lives in Las Vegas:
"Review-Journal here in Vegas reported this morning that Prince is going to sign a long-term with the Rio akin to Celine Dion's with Caesar's and Barry Manilow's with the LV Hilton... This has been a rumor swirling for months and looks like its happening... And interestingly, if you go on to Prince's site at http://www.3121.com/, the only thing that comes up is the unmistakable outline of the Rio's neon tower." Personally, I hope this is NOT true. I would rather not see Prince go Vegas. Is this the beginning of the end for our once cutting-edge, label-defying hero??? Peace, Scott If you've got funk, you've got style. | |

I heard some time back he was opening his own small club in Vegas, but never a set-up similar to Celine, Barry, Elton, Wayne, etc. If you've got funk, you've got style. | |

funny how people just post late news without reading current news.....he's not even playing that much....he will be booking acts to appear at the Rio for $30 a night and charging extra when he shows up with those acts....so for all those that thought he was going to become a Vegas act....think again | |

OK, OK ... I see now it was posted earlier this week. I spent the past two days traveling across the country and did not see it. When I was emailed about it today, I looked quickly and did not see it. I would have expected something of this magnitude as a sticky. If you've got funk, you've got style. | |

I don't see this as a sticky JUST YET as nothing is official. At this time it looks like it will PROBABLY happen...but because it could be dropped at the last minute/second, it is not a done deal. I'm firmly planted in denial |
