Song of the Heart - a remake?

To me, certain parts of the melody and the horn arrangement seems to imply another key and/or a different chord progression. I suspect the song might originally have been written/recorded with different chord changes, and then re-recorded or remixed into this version...

Prince has done that kind of thing several times before (TMBGITW Mustang Mix, So Dark etc)

If so, that could mean that there exists another, "original" version...?
