The Slaughterhouse

For the last few weeks I have not been able to stop listening to this album. It stays in the CD player in my car. This is one of the funkiest albums that many people have never heard.

Personal favs...

Silicon - never been crazy about P rapping, but it is sexy on this song. It's got that sexy electronic funk vibe that Justin Timberlake and Timbaland are trying now. Prince has been there, done that...way better. Who knew a song about healthy living could be so funky and sexy.

Props N Pounds - the funky modulation that he introduces then reprises later in the song is just too much. It's got a Parliament feel to it, but is so supremely Prince.

Golden Parachute - just a smooth, funk R&B jam. Love it!

Hypnoparadise - very European club sounding and sexy. His vocals are hot on this one. I also dig the modulations.

Peace - just too damn funky for words. That is a monster jam.

2045: Radical Man - just funky, laidback funk. This one has really grown on me over the years.

Daisy Chain - very funky. I don't understand why that rapper was added though - very unnecessary. Otherwise, I dig this one as well.

This is why I don't get all the complaints about P's music on here sometimes. This man is into his fourth decade of releasing quality albums with great songs/music on them. Everything does not have to be groundbreaking. Sometimes it's just about a funky jam. The Slaughterhouse is a great CD. I am so glad I downloaded it before NPGMC disappeared.

I think it's a great and very under appreciated album due to that it is a smattering of NPG downloads and never given a proper release like The Chocolate invasion

My Favs are In Silicon, S&M Groove, Peace, 2045 Radical Man, & Daisy Chain...just aboout all of them are funky!

I truly hate this album. It sounds cheap and thrown together, which is essentially why it's an internet-only release, I'd imagine.
