I'm curious. Who are we all as Prince fans? Do you all hang out with other people in the masses who also dig this man and his music? Or do you feel solo in your admiration much of the time? I am the lader. But, after so long, it's okay. My friends, colleages, and family have come to accept it, although most of them still don't totally get it. There seems to be an overall general appreciation of Prince among many people but unique are the souls who claim to be his true,hardcore fans. People get that he is a genius even, that his music is legendary, but wouldn't go so far as to say that they are fans. I said to someone recently that he is the only one I can count on, muscially. Meaning, there will always be 2-12 gems on any given album. Songs that I will carve into who I am to one degree or another. And although I can rattle off a list of reasons why I am such a fan, there is still a piece to the whole thing that seems mysterious. Why him? Why this little man? Is it just the music? Is it because he has been doing it for so long? Is it just because he is sexy? Is it because I wish I could write, produce, and create music the way he does? is it because I want to be the star? What is for you? What is it for us? Do we ALL listen to his music all the time-the people that regularly visit this site and other Prince sites? Do we all dream about him often? What is the line for each of you? The line between admiration and appreciation, or obsession?

There r many reasons as 2 why Prince, but it all comes down 2 the music, there is just something unique about his music that is hard 2 explain, it inspires, uplifts and enlightens the people who r willing 2 open their minds and really listen. consider myself 1 of the lucky 1s, do u?

My wife and I actually met at a Prince fanclub meeting. I think it's different things for different people. With the diversity of the music, you have a tendency to cast out a larger net so to speak. People that appreciate a variety of musical styles tend to appreciate Prince, whereas someone close-minded, who just listens to one style of music, will tend to not "get" the music. If you were to be stranded on a desert island, it'd be nice to have someone there who can play every type of music, instead of someone who's songs all sound the same.

I have a lot of CD's from other artists but HIS are just more special 2 me.
If U wanna rock,he's got it,feeling down,he's got some songs that will comfort U,wanna Funk..well,he's the man.It's obvious 4 all of us,but non-fans don't quiet get this.When someone likes Bryan Adams they wanna hear that kind of music,not a soul or funk song.
I've always been the only P-fan,no friends,no family.
Except the Hits off course.
Through the years I also discovered I really like his voice,when I listen 2 songs written by Prince but performand by others it just ain't the same.

After more than 20 years,his music makes me feel at home everytime I hear it,
wherever I am.And I must admit,seeing him perform(in a vid or live) still thrills me,he's got that something special I can't explain.
And I am a man,so imagine how the ladies must feel
