Minneapolis native, BrownMark and his band Cryptic, are set to release a new CD, "It's Been Awhile" on August 27th. Advance word from radio stations and music circles is that the CD is an outstanding release from real musicians blending funk, r&b, and hip-hop.

BrownMark toured and recorded extensively as bassist with Prince and the Revolution. He received two Grammies and two American Music Awards for his contributions to the "Purple Rain" soundtrack. BrownMark has performed and/or toured with Stevie Ray Vaughn, Salt-N-Pepa, Jody Watley, Sting, Bruce Springsteen, The Rolling Stones, Q-Tip, and Doug E. Fresh.
