...because as soon as the tour was over, Prince was done with it. No interest in it anymore.

I thought for sure there was going to be a DVD, with all the talks about it being on HBO (which fell through because they wanted him to sign a contract that states he can not appear on any tv program for 1 year...only HBO concert), Showtime I heared was a rumor and NBC. I know there is a lot of footage out there because I saw backstage footage of Prince walking around under the stage (it looked big down there, people were walking around like its a under ground city. Its hard to imagine just viewing the stage from the 4th row in MPLS...WOW).

I have the Philly concert on DVD and it is great to watch the tour again. It was a great show (more R&B which I love and he always does better selling). I wish I could get the concert I was at in MPLS sad but I will take something instead of nothing. biggrin

It was nice to see P selling stuff out again. He has always done good but it has been a looooong time since he needed to add a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th or 7th show.

Peace

I really thought with how HUGE this tour was that a DVD release was inevitable. Prince is funny that way. I think it had a potential to make a shit ton of money in DVD sales considering it's popularity.

I'm happy with the LA show that I have on dvd. It's not official but I will tell you that you probably couldn't get anything better and I know that just about everyone on this board has a copy of the show. For those who don't they aren't looking hard enough. Read between the lines and you will find it.

some of the audience filmed boots are waaay better than the LA opening night.
Ok, maybe not quality of footage but the shows are by far better.
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

True. Musicology in New York is much better than the LA show, it would also be cool 2 have the Last Musicology show. Anyone no where that was?

The 2 cam mix is awesome, very professional looking.
to answer your question.....
Musicology Tour Finale at the HP Pavillion, San Jose 11th September 2004.
There is an audio boot of the show but im not aware of there being any footage of it.

I know artists would kill for an opportunity to sell a DVD to a sold out tour. Instead we get One night Alone in Vegas on 8mm

I was there opening night also. It was outstanding 2 see the large sold out crowd chanting his name, but I disagree with u saying he could'nt sell out, I have seen Prince many times and it has always been sold out. This was the first time I seen Prince perform in such a large forum since Purple Rain tour. The last tour here in Los Angele was cancelled at the Forum in Inglewood when he and Chaka were 2 perform 2gether. Prince hurt his ankle and cancelled the show. Other than that he did small shows like the Hit and Run show, One Night Along, HOB, etc. Prince just picked the perfect time 2 tour and made it possible 4 those 2 see him...

That is a very good question. I really thought we might get a dvd of musicology especially when he failed to bring the tour to Europe. It seems such a wasted opportunity. All those fans in the US who saw the tour and loved it would buy to relive the memory, and all those outside the US who never got the chance to go to the shows would love the chance to see just one of them.I'm based in the UK I only got to see snippets on the news and clips on HQ. sad

Wow, I don't have the L.A show. I have the Radio City Show. I know he killed Adore at that show. He was feeling it. In Chicago, where I saw him three times, he didn't do Adore like that.

I was expecting an official DVD too. Oh well, just have to roll with what I have. biggrin
