I'm having a hard time finding a copy of the cassette this song "Pretty MEss" is on. This Vanity album was released on casette in addition to a record, right? I had no problem finding VAnity 6 self-titled on album and cassette--why is this one more rare?

Shouldn't be too hard. I find more copies of Wild Animal in my local used record store (vinyl & cassettes) than most other Prince-related artists' albums. I notice that Amazon auctions has a promo copy for sale at $25-30, includes a song called "Go For It" which I think is by another Motown artist... Billy Preston? Also, there's a 12" picture disc of "Pretty Mess" out there,includes extended version of the song, and "Mechanical Emotion" -- another of my favs. I found three copies at once in a store one day about five years back. Good luck. Very cool album (seems there's many Prince-mentions in the lyrics), and the video's a lot of fun too -- haven't seen it in a LONG time tho.
