He's also used "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy".

most of the time it seems like he used 'sex and the city'. i was waiting for him to blurt out 'strangers with candy' some night, at which point i would have flashed him my snoopy in appreciation, but it never happened.

So by now we've all heard (and seen) the songlist listed here.

But what about the one j7 talked about? What happened 2 that?

Greetings bump Squad from Milan. There are many things that
happened this night but first, I am going to go over the song list
that Prince composed for the Versace Fashion show. Overall, I will
say it was a little over 15 minutes long and Prince was quite
animated while it was playing, which I think some of the photos
posted were while his music was being played. Keep in mind, this
was a newly recorded live studio mix and none of the original
versions was used at all. I am naming it the Versace Xperience II
just because that was the name he used when he did the fashion show
for them in 1995.

The music started with a slight drum beat and flute playing and then
an organ before some guitar playing. About 40 seconds later the
into to "Around The World In A Day" and him whispering "Versace".
The first verse was the same and the chorus but on the second verse
he said "The Purple One will escort you".....along with a few
recorded cheers when he said "don't you want to have a good time?"

He then calls out for Mr. Hayes to do a keyboard solo. He then
spells out V E R S A C E before going into a guitar solo. A little
scream for the ladies and spells Versace out again. You then here
what sounds like to me a few Arabic chants.

It then goes into the start of "Lolita" but all he says
is "Versace" instead of "Lolita" and then it is done. Maybe 10
seconds long.

Next up is "Satisfied" which had the twinz backing him up it sounded
like.

Now, the crowd gets into it a little bit more when "Black Sweat"
kicks in. Loving the synth sound on this version. His vocals are
not as high as the 3121 version but I am digging it just the
same. Even a funky guitar lick or two along with a few bass lines
are thrown in for good measure. He then ends it by saying "Versace".

In kicks "Kiss" and the crowd responds to this one as well. Kept
close to the original version recorded by that car group. 1st
verse, chorus then "think I wanna dance". He says "Talking bout
Versace's Parade" and switches up the lyrics to say "you don't have
to watch Desperate Housewives to have an attitude". The crowd
laughed and was handclapping to this one.

After "Kiss" it goes right into "Shhh!" (I am sorry but the
thunder was not brought how Michael Bland or John Blackwell would
play it. It was lacking. There were Internet reports that John is
not happy in Timberlake's band so here is hoping that him and Prince
reconnect.) New lyrics were added. "I Like the way you look
tonight, I like the way you smell tonight....I am wondering can
I.....can I...." and then a few moans thrown in for effect. Great
response from the females. Another drum solo....sigh. The new
drummer tries but...no thunder..just moderate rain showers....it
then ends with a small guitar solo and him saying "Versace".

It was a decent mix and compared to other fashion mixes, it was
great. Since it was a live mix, unless it was the sound system,
which I highly doubt, the drums were not up to par. If Prince is
indeed planning on doing a world tour in 2007, that drummer better
get to boot camp or perhaps look elsewhere. Personal opinion, but
better than none. Great mix, vocals dead on, "Lolita" could have
been extended and "Satisfied" shortened, (although they may have
wanted a ballad thrown in for good measure)I really enjoyed it and
many thanks to Prince for doing it.

Here is the song list in short order;

Intro
Around The World In A Day(with chants towards the end)
Lolita
Satisfied
Black Sweat
Kiss
Shhh!

(Note: This was sent to me from my friend Simon who did this review
and many thanks to him for sending it in. He said he will try to do
a review of the concert after waking up and has heard there will be no show tonight, September 30th.)

Okay, I'm a little confused...

Did Prince play a set whilst the models came down the catwalk or was it a pre-recorded version over the PA?

I tried to watch this via Housequake last night but I just got a blank screen. bawl I've gor RealPlayer installed on my laptop; is there something else I should be using??

i think they played the prerecorded thing during the catwalk show, and then prince did a show later on in the evening.

Correct. As it was televised by Fashion TV the pre-recorded tracks just took three days to reach you after the event.

As far as I know just picstures of the live set are avaiable, but I am far from a knowledgable person.

Hi Anx,

Thank you. thumbs up! I've been a bit confused by the reports.

And, of course, I just realised...! Unless he was playing from his seat in the front row lol it would've been pre-recorded. doh!

Cheers. hug

how awesome would it have been if his band was playing live during the catwalk show and prince was just sitting in the front row singing into a lapel mic while watching the show with everyone else?

ok, that was kind of dumb. lol

Shhh (2:10)

Also on the 1995 Versace Experience, but this is a new recording. The instrumentation is again more filled out than the original. After the first verse, with the homework and bedroom-remark, some new lyrics are heard; 'Listen; I like the way U look 2nite. I like the way U smell 2nite. I wonder can I? I wonder can I?', then bursting out in some nice 'ooh's, like we like 'm.

Like 'em?

LIKE 'em?

The Mistress has to go home and change her catsuit now.

Yes. The clav synth sounds very similar 2 the 1 he used in 1978.

...and that intro is indeed slammin'. Can U imagine if that type of jam opens his concerts on tour?

Peace.

That's the sound that plays along with the kick drum, right? I'm listening to this over and over, it's that good. And man, the intro... the synth line and the hard snare/clap on the 4, it's all about that hard hitting snare. The synth, the beat, THAT's the Minneapolis Sound. And the way he sys "Mr Hayes" and then that kick ass solo... headbang
