The Opening Jam (1:41)

Build around the rif from the song Around The World In A Day (for you cd owners; the rif 2:42 into the song, just after he shouts 'I think I wanna dance!').

With funky synths, Prince spelling Versace, before playing a brief guitar solo.

An arabic-sounding chant is then heard, just before abruptly segueing straight into;

Lolita (1;36)

A short album edit. The difference is in the opening break, Prince saying Versace, which is then followed by the first and second verse of the song, including the choruses. The second chorus is just cut off after the 'you never make a cheetah outa me' line.

Love (1:40)

Another album-edit. The Let's Kick!-break is used as opening break, followed by the following lyrics (the 'bounce'-part), after which it segues into the first verse and chorus. The last word of that chorus is cut off by the new remix beat of;

Black Sweat (2:41)

Actually a new recording, but with a phatter beat, some more guitar picking and somewhat bouncier drum-rolls. A reworking of the first two verses of the song. At the end, some extra bass and Prince cutting into a reworking of Kiss, just after the 'this beat will make you sweet'-line

Kiss (2:29)

Another new recording. This version is using Prince's Black Sweat vocal antics and is more synth driven than the original.
He changes the famous Dynasty line into Desperate Housewives before he kisses this song goodbye and then cuts to;

Shhh (2:10)

Also on the 1995 Versace Experience, but this is a new recording. The instrumentation is again more filled out than the original. After the first verse, with the homework and bedroom-remark, some new lyrics are heard; 'Listen; I like the way U look 2nite. I like the way U smell 2nite. I wonder can I? I wonder can I?', then bursting out in some nice 'ooh's, like we like 'm.
This song is actually faded, sounding like Prince took some more tome to record this itty-ditty, where as all the other songs sound tailor-made for this show.

The show then has a reprise of Kiss 2006.

My faves are the opening jam, the kewl new Black Sweat and the new vocalisations on Shhh.

So, what do you all think of this?

Shh is my favorite by far. Black Sweat was cool. The rest was kinda meh.

i'm amazed at how fast this joint got put out...i thought the hotel california boot was put out pretty fast. as for this new joint, s'alright; for some reason it reminds me of purple medley. whoever put it out in the first place gets major props.
