Country Music Prince Prince wrote one song for Kenny Rogers; I don't remember the title.
One of the songs on "Chaos" has a country sound; forgot the name of it this second. He's covered Shania Twain. He looked country on the Muppets. Any other "country" Prince?

On one of the tracks on "It Ain't Over!" [I think it's Peach] he's playing rhythm guitar which just starts to sound a bit country and he says something like "i like country music too" - can't remember exactly and I don't have the CD at hand to check but there is definitely something country going on there...
Don't forget he's also covered Bonnie Raitt's "I can't make you love me" on Emancipation - does that count? I'm not a country guru!

The examples of Prince doing 'country' in here are ridicolous:
- I cant make you love me isnt country at all, its a slighty bluesy / soullike singer-songwriter ballad. - Many in here seem to mistake 'Right the Wrong' on Chaos and disorder for country, maybe because of the redneck like voice at the beginning, but this song is pure big band jazz aking to Duke Ellington. - The Same December on Chaos and Disorder isnt country also, but sounds like a campy take on southern rock from the likes of the Allman brothers. When it comes to country i can only see 2 songs that are slightly related to that style: - The guitar riffing on Alphabet Street could be labelled as country, but at the same time as some steve cropper-like riffing. - Purple Rain (the song) can very easily be transformed into a country ballad (listen to Take me with You by The Jawhawks for comparison), but i doubt Prince was aware of that when he wrote that song. Sorry to say, but we still have to wait for the first country song by Prince.

Delirious is rockabilly. Maybe thats how you hear it. To me, Still Waiting has a very twangy intro that instantly reminds me of a country song. Delirious is a rockabilly based tune, and rockabilly reminds me of country tunes from the 50's. A happy face, A Thumpin Bass, For A Lovin' Race. PEACE.

Delirious is rockabilly. "Still Waiting" is NOT "pure traditional R&B". That song has many country elements. The chord progressions are definitely "Rockabilly". If a steel guitar was added, it would definitely be a country song. Can't u hear Rascal Flatts or Sarah Evans singing that song? **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-
