Well you've got the proper big record shops, check out Tower Records in Picadilly Square (right opposite the Eros fountain) and on Oxford Street there is a big HMV and Virgin is further on near Tottenham Court tube station and the mighty Centre Point tower.
Another place to check out is Camden Market on a Sunday, lots of CD sellers here and there, though I haven't personally been there for years so can't be more specific.

Tower Records is now a Virgin Megastore... Camden is a great place to find rarities, both on CD and DVD. Cant remember which particular market it is, but by the bridge over the canal there is a tunnell leading down into a market. The very first stall on the right in the tunnell has loads of Prince stuff

The stalls in Camden generally just sell bootlegs of bootlegs !! You're better off with the internet than paying £20 for a DVDR with a photocopied cover. Or go to the big record fairs when they happen (at Wembley).
HMV on Oxford street is good. I got the CD single SST there last week! Don't know where they got that from? And good for picture disks when they're released. And I picked up a bunch of The Time and Sheila E CDs there a few months ago. I didn't expect them to still be available. They even had Ultimate Prince on Import way before it was officially released here. The "Video and Music Exchange" shops are good on Berwick St. and in Camden. I got Exodus on CD for £1 last month, and they get Promo copies sometimes.

Is there really such a place as Piccadilly square ? I always thought that was just a silly little mistake on Prince´s behalf in "Good Love", mixing up Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus ? I´m not from London, I was born and raised in Germany but I do have an affinity for England, so please let me know. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Sorry, yep, Picadilly Circus, and I didn't know about Tower turning into Virgin. I used to live in London but not for the past 6 years so obviously I'm out of date! Player, also there is an occasional casual London meet-up, you could try going to one and maybe find someone to trade with: http://www.prince.org/msg/2/198537 [Edited 9/22/06 6:02am] [Edited 9/22/06 6:02am]

Head down Berwick Street off of Oxford and just wander into all the vinyl shops you'll come across. [Edited 9/22/06 6:01am]
