Bono is a wonderful man. I'm assuming he'll have no smack to say about Prince. Though, I could be wrong. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

On 'Bono on Bono', there are few bits where he talks about Prince and he's always pretty positive. I have just to find out where I've hidden the book to be more precise... As one door closes, another opens...

I think this has been discussed before on the org.
He talks about how big a fan he is of Prince. That he believes Prince is the greatest out there and he compares him to Duke Ellington. He also says that the one thing Prince really needs is an editor. (Little Richard enters the stage)

I remember back in the early 90's the vocal inspiration for the song "Lemon" was said to have been influenced by Prince (according to Bono). "Old man's gotta be the old man. Fish has got to be the fish."

I don't remember the source...just put in my blog las year: Bono Vox, U2's lead singer and frontman, share his thoughts in a new book called: "BONO: In Conversation". The work was complied by French rock critic/journalist (and friend of Bono) Michka Assayas. And here's some things he talked about the Purple One: About living the rock star life: "These white rock stars, they think they're authentic, and that Prince is just some sort of showbiz Christmas tree. But he has more soul in his little finger than a whole harbor full of these rock bands." Bono talks about meeting Prince in the early 90s and asking him about the word "slave" written on his face: "There's no excuse in the twentieth century for intelligent people signing a deal they don't understand. That said, Prince deserves the best deal in the world because he is the best in the world. He's Duke Ellington to me!" After saying that he would much rather be in a band than a solo artist because solo artists are too prone to indulgence: "I think, in some ways, it's easier to realize a vision that's singular and in your own head, but it's harder to keep the vision going without argument. Look at Prince. He's one of my favorite composers of the twentieth century. I really believe in him. But he needs an editor. He needs a row. He needs somebody in the studio to tell him to f*ck off. 'And guess what? There's six great tracks and four of them are pretty average. I'm sorry, sir. Your genius was having a bad day.' Does he have that? No chance." Yeah Bono...U rock on some good stuff...always!

Yeah Bono...U rock on some good stuff...always! Like many others, I've been saying this for a long time. That's why I really hope he spends some serious time in the studio with W&L, now that they're back in touch again. In the past Wendy was never afraid to tell him the truth. I don't think he's had anyone like that since and he needs it. Having no one around to challenge you leads to stagnation, particularly if you have a strong capacity for self deception.

Bono performed The Cross with Prince & the NPG in 95 in the POD nightclub in Dublin in an aftershow. Bono on vocals. Awesome stuff.
When Prince last played Dublin on the ONA tour he told the seated audience to .."get up and dance, this aint no U2 show!!" I reckon theres a lot of respect both ways...

Prince is Duke Ellington?
Don't belittle Prince like that Bono... Prince is the one and only that will ever rule this holy land... Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Your "little birdy" is telling you stuff that's already writen in history books. Prince is been tired of his being upstaged by his own human ego for over a decade now. He's been unable to get over that wall. Mainly because he's unable to find a firm footing to suport him so that he may get over the wall. This however is through no one's fault but Prince's. thou shall have no other gods before me. The lowercase in the god referred to represents how sometimes we put materialistic things, people, fame and fortune etc. before the one true God. I'm feeling this post. But because I read it somewhere for myself...

God GoD GOd GOD gOD gOd goD What's the diffrence? No diffrence to god. I could use a text god, and someone else could use GOD, but just because they put capitals on the word doesn't make their rightousness any stronger, actually it makes it weaker. If I express the term god to you, you only hear the term god you can choose to hear. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.

Read Exodus 20:3 and you will see the commandment reads with a lowercase g. As I stated, it is with a lowercase g because it is not referring to God himself but other things or people that can take precedence in a person's life so if I believe the 10 commandments were from God, then obviously it matters to him whether or not he is referred to as God or god. Thats my belief. If it doesn't matter to you or you think its so trivial keep it moving as I was replying to someone else. It cracks me up the way people think they can be opinionated and indifferent at the same time.
