Prince is done. He's over. He's finished. He's kaput. What's his fucking point anymore? Sure, he had some classic material back in the day, but what has he done lately? TRC had its moments, but it's utter monkeyshit compared to CDs like "Voodoo," "Now," or "Invincible." Prince is a fucking tool. I don't know why any of you people care anymore! You pay $100 just to get four lousy shitty CDs MAYBE sent to your house a year... You get to pay 8 billion fucking dollars for seats at a shitty dinosaur funk wankfest concert, filled to the brim with crappy medleys and ass-dribbling pseudo-intellectual crap about how Abe Lincoln was SOOO goddamn evil. There are many people, and they have many opinions, and as much as I hate to admit, they are no less valuable than yours or mine.
I must say that I do agree with a couple of things that you said. For instance, I do think that TRC does have it's moments, but for the most part stands in mediocrity. I was also rather ticked about the nay-saying/racism at his shows/on his website. Nevertheless, to me, every purchase I have made of Prince's has been a worthwhile one (with perhaps the one exception, the piece of crap Sacrifice of Victor tape that was the sorriest excuse for a video I've ever seen, and paid $25.00 US for. I mean, if I buy it on his official site, you'd think it would be decent quality!!). What it all comes down to though, is that those who still love him aren't sheep, just because YOU don't like him/agree with him anymore. I mean, okay. Case in point: A friend of mine hates Miles Davis. And I mean HATES. I've tried getting him to hear stuff, but he hates it. So, I guess I'm a sheep who follows Miles Davis? I also know many people who hate D'Angelo and MJ's stuff. So I guess they would be justified in calling you a sheep (or is it a lamb for singular, I can never remember)? I don't take every word that Prince says as law, nor do most people here, yet many will disagree with your saying he's finished. How does that saying go... Opinions are like Assholes? Well, you know how it goes. Oh well, this post will probably go overlooked, or I'll have mis-spelled a word (which is a really big deal for some reason), or I will have missed the point of this thread, and realize it was just a big joke, or I will just be flat out insulted for my differences of opinion. Or perhaps... just perhaps... people will realize that what we like/dislike, support/refute, is all a matter of background and personal preference. To me, these Prince sucks threads, or Prince is Great threads, or Prince is done threads, or Prince is better than ever threads are all pointless, because there is no way any constructive discussion can come out of them. Unless, Sausage, you were planning to ignite the fuse of many follower's rather short temper. Reading some of the rather intelligent threads you've made some time ago, this wouldn't surprise me.
