hi all, i live in milan, italy and here is a quick update.
the concert was officially scheduled for saturday sept 30 and tickets went regularly on sale online, then something happened and all sales are now "temporarily" suspended "due to problems with the event organization as outlined by the promoter itself". unfortunately, as i write i cannot give any further details. could this be because this was supposed to be a private performance?

Donatella Versace Featured in New PETA Ad: “Fur Is Worn by Beautiful Animals and Ugly People”

PETA has had no luck in its efforts to convince Donatella Versace to stop designing with fur by showing her hideous images of animals struggling in traps. So the animal rights group is hoping to get her attention with a hideous image of ... herself.

Just in time for Milan’s Fashion Week, PETA is launching a new ad campaign featuring a most unflattering picture of the designer, with the slogan, “Fur Is Worn by Beautiful Animals and Ugly People.”

“We scoured photo agencies for the shot that most accurately reflects Donatella’s selfish, cruel nature, and although there were many candidates, this one summed it up best,” said Dan Mathews, PETA’s vice president of campaigns.

For each fur garment, animals are trapped, drowned, or beaten to death in the wild or gassed, strangled, or electrocuted on fur farms.

rockstar.it mentions that apparently the cancellation (or suspension) of the show is due to donatella versace herself. apparently, she did not like the idea of a public concert after she fully paid the artist's and staff's transfer to milan and envisoned prince's show as an exclusive performance for her fashion show.
however, a show in milan is not completely out of question.

far as i'm concerned ( and my 'colleagues' ) donahoohaa versace is cancelled. slaughtering animals in the name of vanity makes me wanna fuckin chuck.

i suspect prance didnt do his research before agreeing to this gig.

Hi, Just found the website for the disco Prince was supposed to play at:

It's in Italian, but the word they use about the Prince concert is "annullato" which normally means cancelled, not postponed.

I live in Italy and had just seen an article in this morning's paper .. was excited but wondering if I could afford to go. Problem resolved, I guess.

So far, that makes three times that a Prince concert has been announced near where I live and then cancelled. (twice in Italy, once in USA). Sighhh. His staff needs to do a little more research before agreeing to dates.

yes, but neither the promoter (ticketone.it) nor the most frequently updated online music magazines say it was cancelled. they just write it is "suspended". rumours say he may be playing a surprise free gig in a club, but yet again, it's rumours.

I need to be in ITALY!!!!! Toto! Rita! You must get into this gig and give a detailed report on this site. All the beautiful people are going to be at the Versace show, dressed in beautiful clothes that I can't afford. This is the time to learn to teleport. "Beam me to the Versace show, Scotty!"

I laughed when they said they wanted to email him to let him know he's in the top 10 and said, "good luck with that," (as if Prince even cares it's nominated...)
