got mine...
still haven't opened it... I've seen 'em all already. Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Mine arrived from Amazon UK in the post yesterday - I can't believe Warner's didn't even bother to convert it from NTSC to PAL!! - my laptop can't play it, and my TV always shows a feint blue line along the top of the screen when playing NTSC titles. Oi! Warners!! In Europe, we use PAL!!! (mostly). Lazy gits!
Anyway, I'm hoping the trend of releasing his VHS material will continue - My Live in Syracuse double VHS is in serious need of retirement!

It's still nowhere to be found in Ireland. Virgin don't have a single Prince DVD title in their music DVD section, just buckets of Elvis.

mate the majority of the world is PAL, only America and Japan are NTSC, i dont understand y they dont change 2 PAL, cause then everything would b universal! But nooooo America just has 2 b difficult!
A very good example of this is the PS3 which is due to come out in NTSC regions.....again only Japan & America in like a month or 2, but the rest of the world gets screwed over cause we r in PAL and have 2 wait til March next year! Isnt that nice for us PAL people! Receiving transmission from David Bowie's nipple antenna. Do you read me Lieutenant Bowie, I said do you read me...Lieutenant Bowie

Isnt that nice for us PAL people! I don't think the reason for the PS3 delay in Europe is Pal conversion. They simply fell behind manufacturing the new components, so they decided to concentrate their efforts supplying America and Japan for Christmas, 2 markets which are easier to supply than Europe where there are lots of different outlets, languages, and varying legal issues to deal with for each country. I agree with you on Pal though. NTSC has a more accurate sound speed, but the pictures are lower quality than Pal. Really need a global format which combines the two.

This is actually the first time I've seen a UK/European zone 2 release on general availability which is actually in NTSC and not PAL. Considering how easy it is to convert, I'm pretty disappointed and hope it doesn't become a trend because I agree that PAL has the better picture quality. Sound accuracy is very minimal, I think it's just a few percent difference in the speed which doesn't really effect the overall experience. Until I knew about that i was trying to figure out what the hell the extra 4 minutes were between the PAL and NTSC versions of Purple Rain! - drove me mad for a while!! [some say I never quite recovered...and I still have both versions just in case!]
