RaveUn2TheJoyFantastic 1989...

I got a version of the song Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic supposedly from 1988 or 89. It's exactly the same as the released version from RaveUn2TheJoyFantastic except the sound quality is worse and there's an awesome extended portion at the end with some cool strings and stuff. Is this really from 1989? I would have thought that Prince would have re-recorded it if he was gonna release it 10 years later..or at least include that crazy part at the end!

I read in an interview that he said he played the symbol guitar on that track...I'll try to look it up.

The version of that 1989 track on 'Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic' is actually an edit of the '89 original recording.

Prince thought it wouldn't matter what the production values were, as long as the original vibe of that song was still there.

I would have thought much higher of that album if he had left that string part at the end of Rave. It really made the song alot cooler, IMO

I got one from Napster a long time ago, that had dirty lyrics. The file name for it on napster was Rave un2 the joy fantastic (orginal version with dirty lyrics) The sound was so bad and muffled, I couldn't tell what the lyrics were.
