Great song.

I put it on rock mixes but unfortunately I wish I could cut the end out (for the mix's sake)

why?
News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.

One thing about the guitar is particularly interesting. He uses a delay so that each phrase (about one second long) is repeated.

And it works. It makes me go wild and I start screaming like him... I do.

I absolutely love the coda - that weird, jazzy noise. I kind of wish it was longer and completely instrumental, without the Rainbow Children narration voice.

It's amazing. Hearing this as a teenager and feeling how FAR OUT it was/is....what a trip. Has always seemed like a journey nito his own subconscious narritive.

I love the first part of this song, though not so fond of the sax and cheery synth line which occasionally seem out of place for such a dark song, but never really liked the off-the-wall jazzy ending. I think when an artist records a song with him talking directly with god, he's gone a bit bonkers. Certainly one of the songs which made this album much less accessible to casual fans than it needed to be, I reckon.
