From my years of experience in music, it seems 2 me that ppl shout more 4 the leader of the group and give little effort to the ones playin tha music. Y is this?

Do u only listen to Prince's music becuz he's in it? wat if some1 else in da band were 2 sing and culd sing very well (mayb better than prince) but it waz still Prince's song, wuld u still shout the same jus bcuz prince made the song.
in music nowadays at least in my age brachet, the fans care more about whos in the song more than how good the song is. Look at Paris Hilton or Jessica Simpson they can't sing worth a dime but ppl still luv them. Y? bcuz there in it. the next time u go 2 a concert and u see a band member gettin funky u call out they name and acknowlegde them cuz they work jus as hard as the leader the leader jus doesnt show it bcuz he has 2 make u happy. especially ppl that work or have worked with Prince i figured he wuld kick me out of his band bcuz i wuld not b able 2 keep up.

There is Prince. and then there are musicians lucky enough to be in one of his bands. Being picked by Prince should be more reconition then anyone one of them needs.

Every Prince concert I've been to has a portion where each band member gets to show their skills and get some individual love from the audience. I'm not losing any sleep over whether Mike Scott feels good about himself at the end of the show.

Sure I've listened to plenty of Prince's band members music the peopple around him are very good.

No-one is under an illusion that it's anything but Prince's show, and he's the main attraction, but the band members certainly have always had a higher prominence in the show, and music, than for a lot of other artists I can think of.

But then Prince is a musician.... You draw parallels with Paris Hilton, who is a product, a front for the producers' work, and a device for the record companies..... Some people do listen to music like this because they follow the producers work, much like we might pick up a Carmen Electra record because it was produced by Prince.... admittedly they're in the minority.
