Gold was a good album, I think. Undertaker was on the spot, basically. Chaos was just that, chaos. P has rocked from the get. P was rocking before he even got signed to Warner's. Point is, if P seriously wanted to do an all out rock album, he would have already done it. P's thing has always been about mixing genres. That's what he's known for, musically.

No doubt you are correct but man.....I can hope can't I?

Definately! Player,..look. When I was in my early teens and Purple Rain dropped, you couldn't find a happier kid. I had been into P since the get and the MAJOR reason I dug him in the first place was BECAUSE P rocked. I could have gave a shit about "I Wanna Be Your Lover". What I cared about was Bambi and Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad? See what I'm saying? Whenever I would see P play live, which was 3 times BEFORE Purple Rain even had come out, my eyes stayed glued on Dez and whenever P broke loose on lead guitar. So, when Purple Rain came out, that's what I had been waiting for; the strong rock elements. But I respect P for his diversity, musically. It's his right, as an artist, to express himself the way he NEEDS to do it.

That's what changed my opinion of Prince. "I wanna be your lover" and "Little Red Corvette" were fun and okay I guess.

But Prince seriously got Hetero and showed that his Hohner was not a necklace with Purple Rain. The fury (hehe) and wild abandon he showed throughout Let's Go Crazy, Purple Rain, and When Doves Cry just blew my mind.

And still does today...

In my short-list of indelible images:

Bruce Lee
Christopher Reeve in "Superman: the Movie"
Prince in Purple Rain

These were life-changing performances that will hold up forever. The same goofy grin leaps out my neck whenever I see them regardless of how old I get.

Nice idea, chaos and disorder was a bit of an attempt to create a rock record, but with better compositions and a raw production (no sound effects, silly synths) it might work indeed.

When i mean 'rock', i dont mean the boring, dated eighties FM-rock riffing he has done too often (I wish U heaven, Gold, So far so pleased, Cinnamon girl) but the kind of bluesy, soulfull rock he did create with Michael Bland and Sonny Thompson (aking to Cream and the Jimi Hendrix Experience).

So when he's delivering a mixture of songs like: Chaos and Disorder, I like it there, The extended version of Peach, The live version of The Ride, The Cross and Calhoun Square, that might be interesting.

I agree!!

Enough of this Jazz/One Nite Alone/Old Friends for sale Crap! Sure it was nice, I enjoy the cd's.

But if Prince is telling the truth that when he finishes his career he wants to do every style so it fits in to his full catalog.

Do

ROCK
Classic Rock
Metal

There is 3 styles he needs or should do!

He would make $100+ Million if he did Classic Rock/ Guitar Driven music.
